The 2021 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prizes ceremony was held as online event this year due to the rising COVID figures. Via livestream an international audience from all around the globe was able to join the ceremony and celebrate the two recipients with us.
Lavinia Jacobs, President of the Jacobs Foundation, warmly welcomed our Prize recipients who share the Jacobs Foundation’s goal to strive to make a difference for children. Lavinia also set the context for the decision to award two Research Prizes this year as an extraordinary response to extraordinary times and challenges.
Our Co-CEO Simon Sommer shared his expertise in music composition to show how two seemingly independent bodies of knowledge harmonize into one piece of music and research. Co-CEO Fabio Segura kept the ceremony in motion with his hearty moderation.
Each recipient’s work is showcased in an online exhibition which is available for the public:
Exhibition Prof. Nelson
Exhibition Prof. Schwartz
